About the Creator

Meet Chef Payal Thakurani — a culinary educator who has spent much of her life in China, immersed in its vibrant food culture and everyday cooking traditions. With a deep love for Chinese and broader Asian cuisines, she is passionate about helping home cooks move beyond simply following recipes to truly understanding technique, balance and flavour. From mastering wok hei to building confidence at the stove, her teaching blends tradition with clarity and encouragement. Alongside Chinese cuisine, she also teaches Italian cooking and artisanal breads, bringing together global influences with a strong foundation in fundamentals and food science.
